Snowbird Show at Willows Beach cont
Today we went to the "Snowbirds" show. It was awesome! Jackson loves airplanes so to him it was like he struck gold. He kept clapping and saying "Neat, hey". He kept waving to the planes when they went overhead. Avery enjoyed herslef too surprisingly. I thought it would be loud but it wasn't too bad. She only noticed the airplanes in the sky like twice but she had fun playing in the sand and being outdoors. It took place at a beach called "Willows Beach" which we will definitely go back to when it's not so busy. We did end up swimming and collecting rocks (Jackson's fav pasttime) after the show was over because we didn't want to try to get through the large crowds. The announcer said there was over 30,000 people there!
Beacon Hill Park
Yesterday, the kids and I wandered down to Beacon Hill Park. We actually mostly went to see the Petting Zoo but found a whole lot more! We were there literally all day from 9:30am - 4:00pm. We did so much! There are a few blogs with pics of certain acitivities we did. First we went to the Petting Zoo (see blog entry), then we went to the water park/ park (see entry). Next we got ice cream and head over to the "Concerts in the Park" where they have local music playing throughout the day. They had a great Jazzy type band and Jackson was dancing up a storm (see picture in this entry), which everyone was enjoying. Avery was clapping as well to the music. Afterwards, we went to another water park (see pic) and noticed that we could see the ocena from there. So, we wandered out of the park and down the street to what we discovered to be "mile o". This is a mile long path up on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It went all the way out onto a road that led out into the ocean and then you turned around and came back. I'll tell you, it was way worth walking the 2 miles for ! It was absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, my camera died after I took only a few pics but at least I got the ones you see in this entry! The one picture is of one part of the whole beach that you can walk down the stairs (shown) to get to. Obviously, with the big double stroller, we did not go down there but you could see the beach from above anyway. By this time, the kids were asleep in the stroller so I was lucky to get to walk the whole way uninterrupted! Anyway, we ended our day after that. It was a great day!!!
Some of the places we visited
These are some random pictures from a few of the different areas we visited in the park. Jackson got to feed the ducks with his leftover bread from his sandwich so that was lucky. Also, he found that bamboo stick that is in like 3 of the pictures and wouldn't leave it. We still have it! Anyway, the pic of him on the tree stump is in the "heronry" that they have in the park. That is a Great Blue Heron habitat.
Water Park/Park at Beacon Hill Park
Another fun thing we did at Beacon Hill Park is we went to the park/water park and had a picnic and then played for awhile. Afterwards, we headed up to Beacon Drive Inn which is a little place right beside one side of the park that boasts the "Best Ice Cream in Town". I would have to agree and I think Jackson would have to to especially considering the amount of chocolate ice cream on his shirt afterwards.
Beacon Hill Park
Beacon Hill Park has a great small zoo for kids. It has mostly farm animals but has some interesting animals too like peacocks. Jackson loved the peacocks because they roam free throughout the zoo and they let you get really close to them (see pic). He also really liked the chickens and roosters and kept calling to the rooster "duckduhdoodledo". It was really cute. There wqas also a petting zoo. As you can see in the picture, the goats really liked our stroller. Jackson kept saying to me "Mom, they really really really like us, hey?" It was so funny. First it started as one goat named "Harlequin" who kept climbing up to see Avery in the stroller. Then, like 4 of his buddies came to check it out too. Everyone was laughing and taking pictures. Avery and Jackson will be in many peoples photo albums. Especially a group of teenage Asian girls who just thought it was the funniest thing they had ever seen! They took like 100 pictures between the 6 of them. Anyway, eventually, I had to pull all the goats away because Avery was starting to get scared. Jackson was laughing hysterically and when we left he kept saying "Neat, hey Mom?" What an adventure!

Tour of the Island
We decided to spend our last day together as a family (Jody leaves tomorrow) touring around the island to see what it has to offer. We found lots of great sites. We also toured around looking at all the rich peoples homes. Wow, some people have too much money. Check out the picture of the house that the homeowner built on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. Most of the other pictures are of people's views of the ocean. Really beautiful.
Picnic in the Park
As part of our tour, we thought we would relax with a picnic in a really cool park we found. Jackson appreciated that for sure because he was in the truck for awhile driving and touring. He is quite the climber, that's for sure. He accomplished every climb there was on the playground (shown) with ease which was surprising because some of them looked pretty hard! Avery had fun too; she was in a great mood and was enjoying the beautiful breezy weather. The park was covered with these really beautiful trees with red leaves that hung over the playground. It was a great family moment!
Oceans Blvd
These pictures are from our tour. We drove along a road called "Oceans Blvd" which was a suitable name because it had water on both sides. It was really beautiful. You can see the whole road in the far away picture (the first one) overlooking the road. The picture of the sailboat far in the distance is my fav! The mountains you see in that pic are in Washington. Neat hey?
